Hi _____________________,
There is a link at the bottom of the screen when you get into EMSOnline called "Send EMSOnline to your staff"
N.b. EMSOnline is not designed to be rolled out as part of a formal rollout process. The formal process kicks in only after users have the link, and start trying to access various links. Then, the business rules created by whoever in your organisation s project managing that particular area (usually, this is not our business) under that link cuts in.
That link generates an automated email to you, that you can adjust as you wish, and fwd onto your staff. The text of that email is as shown below.
Kind regards
********************************************************************
BACKGROUND
(1) Before 2010, EMSOnline was a tool used primarily by managers to view reports, and perhaps download a roster or two.
(2) From 2010, it is also a tool for supervisors and key staff, who with respect to a variety of tools, can now enter data directly onto the network, rather than into standalone templates.
ISSUES FOR SUPERVISORS
(3) Security (permissions) apply throughout, so PLEASE EXPECT TO BE BLOCKED when you first start hitting links: this is intentional on our part.
(4) Then, when you are blocked, you will be invited via 'pop-up' to log a request for access.
ISSUES FOR MANAGERS
(5) Asking users to apply for permissions for specific areas can be inconvenient for supervisors and staff, however, not all supervisors can have access to all areas at once (for example, some tools are currently in their pilot phases, to certain houses only).
(6) For this and other resons, we prefer not to arrange bulk permissions for staff. In particular, bulk permissions bypasses the automated system, and as a result, the automated emails that apply to specific links.
(7) In short, it's currently more efficient to just forward this email to supervisors, let people get blocked, and let them into the automated process.
ACTIONS
(8) Supervisors and staff: simply open the attachment to install 'EMSOnline 2010' on your desktop.
(9) If the icon appears on your desktop as it should, double click it and start hitting any links in which you are interested.
(10) If the icon does not appear on your desktop, simply reply to this email and let us know, and we'll ring you, and get it onto your desktop manually (rare)...
